Recently Indian Nursing Council (INC) released eligibility criteria for Nursing colleges. The candidates who are desirous to take admission in B.S c Nursing may please note the following criteria.
Age | Minimum Age – The minimum age for admission in BSc Nursing shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year admission is sought. Maximum Age – The maximum age for admission is 35 years as prescribed by (INC) |
Qualifications | 10+2 with Science stream (Chemistry, Physics, Biology as compulsory subjects) from a recognized university or school. |
Minimum Marks | Minimum 45% marks are compulsory for admission. |
Medical Requirements | A Candidate must be medically fit for the course. |
Reservation | For disabled candidates: 3% of seats are reserved for disabled candidates. The disability of the locomotor is tune to 40% to 50% of the lower extremity. For SC/ST: 5% of seats are reserved. |
Foreign Nationals | 12th standard will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Indian Nursing Council should ensure that the qualification and eligibility are equivalent to as prescribed above. |

There are different nursing colleges & admission to those colleges is provided on the basis of merit or entrance exams. - Qualifications: The candidate must have passed his 10+2 level exam or its equivalent from a recognized board or authority.
- Medical Stream: Candidate must have passed with the compulsory subjects of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and English.
- Minimum Marks: Candidate must have passed with aggregate marks of 45% in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and English. For ST/SC, the aggregate mark is 45%.

PGIMER is a public medical university in Chandigarh, India. It is an ‘Institute of National Importance’ offering a variety of educational and training opportunities for medical specialists from all over the country. In 2013 it was ranked as one of India’s top three medical colleges. It is home to the Regional Cancer Centre which offers management and treatment for a number of different types of cancer including blood, skin, musculoskeletal, head and neck, gynecological and breast cancers.
- Age-The candidate’s age should not be more than 25 years and must not be less than 17 years on 1st September 2021.
- Medical Stream– 10+2 with Science stream (Chemistry, Physics, Biology as compulsory subjects from a recognized university or school.
- Minimum marks– Minimum 45% marks are compulsory for admission.
Selection Process
They conduct their own entrance test. Counseling will be performed based on a variety of steps like an interview, document verification, seat allotment, and payment of fees. Candidates will have to bring the following documents at the counseling day:
- 12th class mark sheet and certificate
- 10thclass mark sheet and certificate
- Caste certificate/ category certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Passport size photographs etc.
4. Shimla Nursing College Eligibility Criteria
Shimla Nursing College is one of the constituent colleges of Himachal Pradesh. It was affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University.
- Age– The candidate’s age should not be more than 35 years and must not be less than 17 years on 31st December 2021.
- Medical Stream– 10+2 with Science stream (Chemistry, Physics, Biology as compulsory subjects from a recognized university or school.
- Minimum marks– Minimum 45% marks are compulsory for admission
- Bonafide Himachali: For Nursing Admissions, children of bonafide Himachal Pradesh government employees and state-funded autonomous bodies are eligible to apply for admission to 4-year Diplomas in Nursing offered by state colleges private institutions.
- For Management Quota seats– Filling up 50% Management Quota Seats in Private un-aided B.Sc. There will be no domicile requirement for nursing colleges in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
5. Kol Valley Institute of Nursing Eligibility Criteria
Kol Valley Institute of Nursing has been a cornerstone in the development of female education. In 2009, it introduced a diploma course for preparation for qualified nurses.
